Spanish wine bar and restaurant

Dean Street Newcastle upon Tyne

After one year trading at 8 High Bridge, in May 2018 an unexpected opportunity presented itself to us – to take a ground floor and basement site at 19 Dean Street. We decided to expand in order to keep learning and to give us the possibility to improve, to have more space to create wine tastings, to accept larger group booking, functions, private dining and much more events, which isn’t possible due to small size at our first venue in High Bridge.

On May 2019 we did open our second restaurant at 19 Dean Street, this street was built by David Stephenson along the steep valley or ‘dene’ of the Lord Burn’s course in 1787. It was linked to the bridge and became one of Newcastle’s principal streets. Nowadays it is the natural link between the City Centre and the Quayside, one of Newcastle’s principal streets.

Our Dean Street venue is opposite to the Dean Street car park, which is free after 5pm.

Also inspired by Spanish cuisine, we offer a selection of small dishes that can be served as individual starters or perfect to sharing, cured plates and farmhouse cheeses from small family producers from around Spain. This is complemented with more substantial dishes that can be served as a main course or as a sharing concept.

We offer Paellas only pre-booked minimum of two people,

Due to our small kitchen size we cant offer paellas on Friday or Saturday evenings however we do offer paellas only pre-booked in advance any other day of the week at our Dean Street venue. (we can’t offer paellas at our Highbridge venue)

At Dean street we have two floors, more space to offer business lunches, family early dinner before the Theatre, late night suppers with friends, or tranquil aperitivo at our open kitchen bar watching the chef cooking their best.

We do also offer our downstairs room for large groups up to 30, private functions, small weddings, birthdays, graduation or any other event you could need, always creating a bespoke menu which will adapt to your requirements.

Due to our wine passion at Dean Street we wanted to increase our “BODEGA” adding some international wines with grapes and region which we do trust will compliment our extensive Spanish wine selection already built at our smaller venue at High Bridge.

We do wine tastings as well! Please sign up to to join our mailing list to receive news, offers, event details, etc.
